Laboratory of Cell Biology headed by Prof. Marta Miączyńska
is looking for a highly motivated, talented and enthusiastic undergraduate student

who is interested in working with the zebrafish model in the SONATA project awarded by the National Science Centre. The aim of the project, led by Dr. Lidia Wolińska-Nizioł is to investigate the role of Tollip protein in the early zebrafish development and to establish its potential function in protein homeostasis.

The successful candidate will be performing molecular biology experiments including PCR, Western blot, in situ hybridization and microscopy techniques. Moreover, he/she will become familiar with gene editing technology using the CRISPR/Cas9 system. In the course of work with zebrafish the student will assist in animal handling, crossing fish, renewing lines and fish genotyping.

The ideal candidate should be
- an undergraduate student of biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or related fields,
- prepared to balance his/her other coursework at the university with a challenging work experience in a lab setting,
- interested in experimental work and learning new molecular techniques/methods,
- able to communicate in English and possess good teamwork skills.

Previous experience in working with animal models is highly desirable.

Remuneration will be offered depending on the level of experience and time commitment of the successful candidate.
