Postdoctoral researcher
Laboratory of Protein Metabolism in Development and Aging at the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Wojciech Pokrzywa, seeks productive, creative, and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a project that aims to understand how the ubiquitin-proteasome system modulates nucleolus function as a protein quality control compartment using the methods of cell biology, imaging, and biophysics. The position is funded in frame of FIRST TEAM grant (POIR.04.04.00-00-5EAB/18-00) awarded by Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) entitled: "The regulation of methionine metabolism by the ubiquitin-proteasome system: CHIPed supervision of the methylation potential”.
The ideal candidate should be able to pursue challenging tasks and achieve objectives and collaborate with other researchers. The laboratory is located in the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (www.iimcb.gov.pl) – one of the top-ranked (A+) Polish research institutes, that provides stimulating and interdisciplinary research environment and opportunities of the large biomedical campus. As a Postdoctoral Researcher: You will be responsible for planning and conducting experiments, data analysis, and project development. You will also assist in coordinating daily activities and supervising students. Preference will be given to an individual who can work independently and write manuscripts and scientific reports.
Requirements:

Hold a doctoral degree/Ph. D. for no longer than five years (received no later than in January 2015) in Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biophysics or equivalent research-related field.

Have experience with molecular biology, mammalian cell culture techniques, genomic editing, gene delivery, qPCR, immunostaining, and live cell imaging techniques. Experience with FRET and FACS analysis is in plus.

High motivation, analytical skills, and independent thinking.

Ability to work in a team, good organization of work.

Ability to plan and execute a research program.

Have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
