Laboratory Support Specialist position in the Laboratory of Structural Biology



The Laboratory of Structural Biology at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw headed by Prof. Matthias Bochtler is looking for a Laboratory Support Specialist.



As a Laboratory Support Specialist, you will help the Lab Leader in the following areas:

  1. Grant management: You will assist in preparing and managing grants. As the lab leader is not a Polish native speaker, this also requires the ability to translate scientific texts from English to Polish

  2. Lab management: You will make sure that the lab is running smoothly, by ordering supplies, initiating equipment repairs, and by organizing and managing new purchases

  3.  Lab tuition: You will help train new PhD students in basic molecular biology techniques and keep an eye on their record keeping and documentation of scientific results

  4. Organization: You will help prepare travel, host guests, and assist in other administrative tasks

  5. Safety: You will take over the duties of Laboratory Safety Officer



Requirements for the candidate:

  • Laboratory experience in biochemistry or molecular biology

  • Ability to handle diverse tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to work in a team

  • Ability to handle and meet deadlines

  • Very good written/oral Polish and English skills
