MSc Student Position in Laboratory of RNA Biology

The Laboratory of RNA Biology at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Prof. Andrzej Dziembowski, is seeking a Master’s Student to join the project entitled “Mouse Genome Engineering Facility – generation of animal models for biomedical research and preclinical studies” (POIR.04.04.00-00-436A/17-00). Project is carried out within the TEAM TECH Core Facility programme of the Foundation for Polish Science. The aim of this Project is to create a core facility to supply the scientific community with quickly generated transgenic animal model.

The laboratory is located in the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (www.iimcb.gov.pl) – one of the top ranked (A+) Polish research institutes, that provides stimulating and interdisciplinary research environment and opportunities of the large biomedical campus. Research topics at IIMCB cover the wide area of structural biology, bioinformatics, computer modeling, molecular and cell biology, neurobiology, cancer biology, and developmental genomics (zebrafish model). The Institute is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, has excellent core facilities and supportive administration. Candidates will be selected in an open competition, according to the procedure complying with the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research strategy https://www.iimcb.gov.pl/en/institute/hr-excellence 

As a Master’s student you will be responsible for conducting experiments under supervision of PI and post-docs and preparing annual reports.

Requirements for the candidate:

• Currently first year student of MSc (or equivalent) course in biology or biochemistry, or related area 

• Has a proactive approach to achieving tasks and objectives, good interpersonal skills, a collaborative attitude

• Has experience in histology and work with laboratory mouse 

• Has very good written and oral communication in English

• Enjoys working in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment
