Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Laboratory of RNA Biology
Laboratory of RNA Biology at the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Prof. Andrzej Dziembowski, seeks a productive, creative, and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher experienced in bioinformatic analysis of transcriptomic data to join a project that aims at providing the first comprehensive picture of the role of cytoplasmic polyadenylation in the regulation of local protein synthesis at synapses.
The position is funded in the frame of the GRIEG project no. UMO-2019/34/H/NZ3/00733 entitled: “The impact of cytoplasmic polyadenylation on local translation in neurons”. Polish-Norwegian research project is funded from the Norway and EEA Grants 2014–2021 under the Basic Research Programme operated by the National Science Centre.
This project will combine contemporary transcriptomic approaches such as direct RNA sequencing with functional studies on mouse KO models and is based on collaboration between three research groups. Andrzej Dziembowski, an expert in RNA biology and the founder of the mouse genome engendering facility, together with his group members, will be responsible for the transcriptomic analysis and will generate animal models. Clive Bramham, a neurobiologist from the University of Bergen, is a world-leading expert on the molecular mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, with much experience in combining live animal studies of LTP with analysis and biochemical signaling pathways, gene expression, and synaptic translation. Magdalena Dziembowska, a molecular neurobiologist from the University of Warsaw, together with her group members, will be responsible for the experiments on isolated synaptoneurosomes and neurons in culture.
The ideal candidate should be a bioinformatician proficient in transcriptomics. Prior experience in nanopore data analysis will be a benefit. Candidates with both wet lab and in silico experience are also highly welcomed. The Candidates will be selected in an open competition, according to the procedure complying with the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research strategy https://bit.ly/3sZOKpY
