Project title:

INFECTLESS New generation of antibacterial wound dressing

Project is carried out within the TeamTech programme of the Foundation for Polish Science

Project description:
Dr Sabala’s team is focused on investigating of new antimicrobial proteins, their activity and potential applications as antimicrobial agents in various areas of industry. It requires involvement of experts in biochemistry (protein engineering, structural biology) nanomaterials, regenerative medicine and industrial biotechnology. The successful candidate will be involved in an exciting multidisciplinary research programme which aims to develop new generation of effective, antimicrobial wound dressings.


Key responsibilities include:

1.     Production and purification of recombinant proteins
2.     Protein engineering
3.      Biochemical, biophysical and structural characterization of proteins
4.     Supervision of postgraduate students

Profile of candidates/requirements:

1.      PhD degree in biological sciences or related fields, obtained not earlier than in 2013
2.      Solid knowledge and experience in protein biochemistry and/or molecular biology. Experience in structural biology (crystallography) would be an asset.
3.      Good publication record
4.     Very good oral and written command of English
