Research Specialist
Laboratory of Iron Homeostasis
Laboratory of Iron Homeostasis at the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Dr Katarzyna Mleczko-Sanecka, seeks motivated Research Specialist to join a project that aims to better understand how iron-recycling macrophages adapt to limited iron supplies. You will join the project entitled: “Identifying unique adaptive responses of red pulp macrophages to iron deficiency” which is carried out as the SONATA (UMO-2020/38/E/NZ4/00511) grant of the Polish National Science Centre.
Candidates will be selected in an open competition, according to the procedure complying with the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research strategy.
As a Research Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the team in their daily work related to the project. You will be involved in mouse-based experiments (dissection, organ processing and staining), genotyping of mice and flow-cytometric measurements. You will help the PI in managing the project regarding organizational and science-related matters (preparing reagent databases, managing mouse colony, organizing sample storage, keeping the protocols up to date etc.).
Requirements for the candidate:

MSc degree in biology, biotechnology, medicine or related field

Experience in laboratory work (particularly in techniques required for this project)

Diligence and accuracy in performing experimental work

Very good command of English

Readiness to learn new skills

Very good communication skills
-
High motivation, analytical skills and independent thinking

Ability to work in a team, good organization of work
We offer:

Full employment contract for 5 years

Gross monthly salary: ~5200 PLN (the final monthly gross salary will be calculated individually during the employment process, taking into account the length of service). Additional bonuses such as the 13th salary after working for the Institute for six months in a given calendar year, or Christmas bonus may supplement this salary.
